En el Plan de Producción de Información Geográfica del Gobierno de Canarias para el periodo 2012 al 2014, los productos Ortofoto Urbana y Mapa Topográfico Integrado tendrán un ciclo de actualización trianual en lugar de anual como venía ocurriendo hasta el año 2011. La frecuencia de actualización de la Ortofoto Regional seguirá siendo anual. La distribución prevista de productos por islas y fechas para el periodo 2012-2014 es la siguiente:

El año pasado, en 2012, se realizó el Mapa Topográfico Integrado (MTI) y la Ortofoto Urbana (OU) de Fuerteventura y Gran Canaria. En este ejercicio 2013 se realizará la actualización del MTI de las islas de Lanzarote, El Hierro y La Palma partiendo del MTI que se hizo en 2011 y la OU de dichas islas. Para el próximo año 2014 ambos productos serán de Tenerife y La Gomera. El resto de productos como el Mapa Callejero y el vuelo LIDAR seguirán teniendo una frecuencia anual.
